Makes the top half of the map look really small especially since the city portion is only like 1/3 of the map.

It's still missing San ferrio and Las venturas. The good old days when a game didn't need graphics and the maps were huge.

Despite being a portion of V's size, San Andreas still to this day feels bigger than V. Los Santos was pretty great, but the rest of the map was a disappointment. You can't even get lost since you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro from every point of the countrysie.

San Andreas feeling bigger is due to a combination of an incredibly small draw distance, different areas of the map being fenced off and unlocked as the main story progressed and the map being divided and shaped in such a way in which getting from one area to another took a very long time on much longer route. By increasing the draw distance substantially and making the map more cohesive, V feels somewhat smaller even though it is actually a little over twice as big as San Andreas.

It's disappointing once you realize how much of the map went completely unused in single player; the stadium, horse track, casino, most high rise buildings, the prison, army base, etc. The single player was decent but it had so much more potential for a lengthier and more in-depth story that used the entire map. How did rockstar seriously have a single player story that didn't ever use, let alone acknowledge, major aspects of the map like the prison, army base, and stadium? They are completely irrelevant and useless.

I think this is the main reason San Andreas still feels bigger than V. Pick any spot on the whole San Andreas map, and not only will it look different to any other spot, but you can guarantee at some point in the single player campaign you've been there. On V there was a lot of the map that there's just no reason to visit.

Did they ever find that jetpack?

What I feel should be stated is that if you tried to walk the entire Island it would feel bigger, most of us just use super cars and drive 150 mph from one end to the other of course it feels small you're going really fast.
